We have ordained a law and path for each of you. Had Allah pleased, He could have made you one nation; but that He might prove you by that which He has bestowed upon you. Vie with one another in good works, for to Allah you shall all return and He will declare to you what you have disagreed about. (Quran 5:48)

Prayer for the Children

“Year of the Child" Hymn -- Jane Parker Huber, Presbyterian Church USA

Help us to show your love, O God, to children in your care, and reach beyond till every child is help in love and prayer.

For, through neglect, abuse and sin, some children suffer pain.

They never learn to love and seek a rainbow through the rain.

When children need a helping hand to lift or to inspire, may we be present there to give what they require.

For love, our God has made us all, God's children everywhere, to live in joyful harmony, to be the best we dare.

Prayer for the Homeless

We shouldn’t only look overseas when we think about problems. We have many problems in this country. The homeless -- they are our people too. We can build bridges between our people. But everyone must have a sound and equitable foundation.

Verses on Justice and Generosity

They ask you, [O Muhammad], what they should spend. Say, "Whatever you spend of good is [to be] for parents and relatives and orphans and the needy and the traveler. And whatever you do of good - indeed, Allah is Knowing of it." Quran 2:215

And the heaven He raised and imposed the balance. That you not transgress the balance. And establish weight in justice and do not make deficient the balance. Quran 55:7-9
