Candidates Discuss Key Issues

This past Monday night, the faith community came together to attend a Gubernatorial Candidate Forum on the topic of homelessness and poverty. Sponsored by the Downtown Congregations to End Homelessness and JRLC, and hosted by Temple Israel, candidates were asked how their values and/or faith inform their views on homelessness in Minnesota.

Over 350 people attended the Candidate Forum at Temple Israel

Candidates who attended the debate were: Tom Horner, Mark Dayton, Rob Hahn, Margaret Anderson Kelliher, Leslie Davis, John Uldrich, Matt Entenza, and Bob Carney, Jr. All candidates from the Republican, Democratic, and Independent parties were invited to attend.

All maintained a genial and respectful attitude throughout the forum, and shared stories ranging from their upbringing and faith backgrounds to policy proposals of what they would do as governor.

The UpTake live-streamed the event and has posted a full video of the discussion to YouTube--you can watch a video of it here.
