JRLC e-Xpress October 8

TAKE ACTION THIS MONDAY: JRLC invites you to join many of us at the Minnesota Nurses Association’s rally this Monday at the State Capitol to reverse the General Assistance Medical Care (GAMC) cuts of last session. The rally will begin at 10 am on Monday, October 12 on Constitution Blvd near the Veterans Building and we will be marching to the top of the State Capitol steps. The group will be wearing red. JRLC Board Member Rev. Doug Mitchell will be one of the speakers, so join us!

The cuts to the GAMC funding will leave 33,000 of our most vulnerable adult Minnesotans without health insurance. Many are veterans, people with mental illness, or those who are homeless. 70% have chemical dependency challenges, and 40% have chronic illnesses that lead to frequent hospitalization. As faith communities, it is our moral obligation to defend the powerless and demand that they are not forgotten. For more information, email This e-mail address is being protected from spambots.
