Info for Participants

We want you to be well-prepared for Day on the Hill, Tuesday, February 3rd, 2009. We hope this information clarifies any questions you may have about the day's event. You can register on-line starting November 1st.

Registration Fees
  • Register by January 23rd - $30.00 for adults, $15.00 for students
  • Register after January 23rd - $40.00 for adults, $25.00 for students
  • Register at the door - $45.00

Visits with your Legislators
We ask that you call your legislators’ offices right now to make your appointment. Try to get an appointment for February 3rd between noon and 3:30. Let them know that you are with JRLC’s Day on the Hill. You can find your legislators names and phone numbers by visiting the Legislature’s website or call the numbers below for assistance.

Tentative Morning Schedule at RiverCentre
8:30 Registration at RiverCentre--Please check in with the registration table and pick up your nametag and folder. For the morning session at RiverCentre, you will be seated by legislative district.
9:00 Opening Prayer and remarks
9:15 Keynote Speech
9:40 Issue briefings in plenary
10:20 District table discussions to prepare for your legislative meetings
11:00 Bus to the Capitol

11:30 Music, Justice Awards in Rotunda
11:40 Call to Justice in Rotunda
11:45 Lunch pick-up begins in the Great Hall
12:00-3:30 Meet with your legislators
4:00 Last shuttle bus service to RiverCentre

Shuttle Service
25 school buses will begin departing RiverCentre at 11:00am to get all of us to the Capitol by 11:20am. Look for the JRLC sign in the bus window. Five school buses will shuttle between the Capitol and the RiverCentre between 1:30pm and 4pm so you can get back to your vehicle whenever you are ready.
Parking
You can park at the RiverCentre ramp on Kellogg Blvd. or at nearby parking ramps ; RiverCentre event parking is about $10. For those who choose to drive to the Capitol, the Legislature’s website has driving directions and parking tips.
