iCAN Ask the Candidates
iCAN suggests asking these sample questions when candidates for Minnesota offices knock at your door, or when they participate in candidate forums. (We'll update this page with more questions. Check back!)
- Over 152,000 Minnesota kids live in poverty; nearly 70,000 of them live in extreme poverty. What would you do to help families with children become economically self-sufficient and able to provide for their families' needs?
- 85,000 children in Minnesota currently have no health coverage. What would you propose to ensure that children grow up healthy and have access to comprehensive health care?
- In Minnesota, the cost of licensed, full-time infant care ranges from $140 to $247 per week; licensed, full-time care for pre-schoolers ranges from $125 to $187 per week. How will you ensure that all Minnesota children and families have access to affordable quality childcare?
- How will you ensure that all Minnesota children have the
opportunity for high quality early learning experiences so that they
are ready for kindergarten?
So! How are the Children?
Donations to iCAN supports faith-based systemic change for the children of Minnesota.
